The newborn stage is one of the most unbelievable experiences in the world. You’ve waited for so long for this moment, and once it’s here, you still feel like you’re dreaming. Unfortunately, that’s probably the only dreaming you’re doing! Between the sleep deprivation, the constant feeding sessions, and the recovery, you’re likely in a bit of a haze. As a Pittsburgh photographer and a mom myself, I know what it’s like to want to preserve this stage so you can remember it long after those chaotic early months are over. If you’ve been considering booking some Pittsburgh newborn photos, I would love to tell you about what you can expect during your session.
When Do Pittsburgh Newborn Photos Typically Take Place?
One of the first things I talk about with my clients is when to schedule these portraits. We typically have a conversation while you’re still pregnant and will schedule your session 10 days after your due date. Don’t worry if your baby is a little too cozy. If you have a late delivery, we can adjust your session as needed! The ideal time to do your session is when your baby is around 7-14 days old, but that’s flexible. In fact, I’ve photographed newborns up to one month old!
Why You Should Book Your Pittsburgh Newborn Photos Early!
Booking Early Ensures Availability
If you want to ensure you can reserve your Pittsburgh newborn photos session, the best thing you can do is book the pictures as early as possible! I usually suggest my clients book their newborn pictures right at the beginning of their second trimester. This will give you the best chance at finding availability at the ideal time in my schedule.
Take Items Off Your To-Do List
Your body does so much work throughout pregnancy, and I love working with clients to give them the best way to honor this! I also offer dreamy maternity sessions that let you show off that adorable bump and remember this time forever. If you have been considering booking a Pittsburgh maternity session, it’s a good idea to schedule both this and your newborn photos simultaneously. That way, you can go ahead and cross both off your to-do list. You may also want to look into my Collective Membership. This option lets you schedule four sessions and save them. Plus, you’ll get access to many perks, including professional hair and makeup and access to my client wardrobe!
Limited Number of Sessions
I let all my Pittsburgh clients know early on that I only accept a limited number of newborn photos each month. This allows me to show up to each session and make sure my clients get the time and attention they deserve. It also gives me some flexibility if we need to adjust your date for any reason.
