You blinked. They grew. We should probably get this on camera.

Pittsburgh Child Photographer

Six months. Nine months. One year. Every one looks different from the last. They pass faster than you think. You feel it every time you pull something out of the closet that does not fit anymore. As your Pittsburgh child photographer, my whole job is to hold these months still.

I know you are tired. I know your days are a blur of errands and naps and doing the same things over and over. And I know that somewhere in the middle of all that, you keep thinking: I should get this on camera before it changes again.

A milestone session is proof that this age happened. Not a perfect picture. An honest one. How they sit. How they reach for everything. That look when they see you walk into the room. You think you will remember all of it. The specifics go first. This is how you keep them. This is what a Pittsburgh baby and child photographer is really for.

"But what if they will not sit still?"

They probably will not. Good.

Six months, grabbing everything in sight. Nine months, crawling everywhere. One year, they have opinions. Strong ones. Usually involving cake.

None of that has ever ruined a session. Not once. As a Pittsburgh child photographer, I am not trying to get your baby to cooperate. I photograph whoever shows up. Silly, great. Grumpy, also great. Needs a snack break or a ten minute cuddle, we take it. Some of my best images happened because a kid did the exact opposite of what we planned.

They are supposed to act their age. I would be worried if they did not.

Nobody has to be on their best behavior. Including you.

As your Pittsburgh child photographer, I run the session so it stays calm and easy. But there is plenty of room for your kid to be themselves. I am looking for the real stuff. Curious looks. Belly laughs. That moment between you and your child when neither of you is trying.

Wardrobe, styling, hair and makeup included. You show up. I take it from there.

When your gallery is ready, we go through everything together. You will have a favorite before I finish setting up the proofs. Maybe it is their hands. Maybe a look they gave you that you had no idea the camera caught. We take those images and put them on your walls and your shelves. This is what a full-service Pittsburgh child photographer is for. A print by the stairs. A page in the album that tells their whole first year.

You are not behind. You are right on time.

Maybe you meant to book at three months and here you are at eight. Maybe you keep telling yourself you will get to it and the weeks keep slipping. That voice that says you missed the window? It is wrong.

There is no perfect age. There is only now. Your baby is doing something they will never do again in exactly this way. And this matters more than you probably realize right now. You will feel it later. They are five and running and talking in full sentences, and you pull out that album and see them at eight months. Whenever you get here, we make it count.

An heirloom album gives each age its own page, its own story, and a permanent place your family can return to whenever they need a reminder. This is the part of working with a Pittsburgh child photographer that lives long past the session itself. Proof of how fast it went.

Six months looks nothing like one year. You know this already because you are living it. An heirloom album gives each age its own page, its own story, and a permanent place your family can return to whenever they need a reminder. Framed prints by the stairs. A matted album on the shelf. Digital files to share with everyone who keeps asking. We choose all of it together after your session, so every piece feels right.

2026 Pittsburgh Child Photographer Investment

Step One: Reserve Your Date

Your session fee is paid first and reserves your date and experience. It covers everything that makes the day itself feel effortless — your welcome package, a pre-session planning call, full access to my client wardrobe with styling guidance for your whole family, professional hair and makeup, and your session.

A single session fee is $400.

The Collective Membership is $900 for up to four sessions — most Collective clients book maternity, newborn, six months, and first year. Each session includes everything above: wardrobe access, styling guidance, professional hair and makeup, and your time with me. Membership also includes priority scheduling, grandparents or your family pup in one session, 25 custom-designed birth announcements or holiday cards, and $200 off each heirloom album.

Step Two: Choose Your Portraits and Artwork

After your session, we sit down together at your design and ordering appointment. I walk you through your images as printed proofs and help you choose exactly what belongs in your home — heirloom albums, framed fine art prints, matted keepsakes, digital files, and custom announcements. You only invest in what you love, after you’ve seen it.

What Most Families Invest

Total investment begins at $1,300 — which includes your session fee and a curated set of digital files. Most families invest $2,500 or more by adding heirloom artwork like an album or framed fine art prints. We’ll walk through every option together during your design and ordering appointment so the experience feels easy from start to finish.

Looking for Something Simpler?

The Petite Milestone Session is a shorter, focused option for baby only — no professional hair and makeup, no full wardrobe styling, and a handful of beautiful images instead of a full collection. A good fit if a full session is not quite right for where you are or you are just looking for a few sweet portraits to mark this stage. Reach out and I’ll share the details.

I’m a founding member of The Motherhood Anthology — a global community of photographers committed to elevating motherhood imagery into something families keep for generations.

A few things people usually ask.

Great question — and one I want to be really transparent about, because the way I’ve structured your experience is a little different from what you might expect.

Your session fee covers everything that goes into creating your experience: my time and expertise as your photographer, a planning call to talk through your vision, full access to my curated client wardrobe (sizes XXS to XXXL), professional hair and makeup in-studio, baby-led pacing with no time limits, and the guidance of a photographer with a pediatric ICU nursing background. It’s the investment in the experience itself — and it’s designed so that from the moment you walk through my door, every detail is handled for you.

Your digital files and heirloom artwork are chosen and purchased separately after your session, during a Design and Ordering Appointment where we sit down together and I walk you through your images. This way, you’re only investing in the pieces you truly love — not paying for a package that was decided before you’ve even seen your portraits.

Every family is different, and I never want you to feel like there’s a one-size-fits-all answer here. That said, I also don’t want you to be surprised, so I’m happy to share what most of my clients choose.

Investment with Petite Magnolia starts at $1,300, which includes your full session experience — your $400 session fee covering my time, the planning call, professional hair and makeup, full access to the client wardrobe, and baby-led pacing — along with a handful of beautifully edited digital files to take home.

From there, most families invest between $2,000 and $4,500 total for a complete collection that includes a fuller set of digital files alongside heirloom artwork — an album, framed fine art for your walls, or keepsake pieces for grandparents. The range simply reflects how much tangible artwork a family wants to bring home.

For families who choose The Collective Membership — which includes up to four sessions over 18 months — your artwork investment is made separately after each session, so you can spread your investment across the milestones that matter most to your family.

Families who invest in heirloom artwork alongside their digital files enjoy preferred pricing on their digital gallery — and the more you invest in tangible pieces for your home, the more that value grows.

Absolutely. I want this to feel exciting, not stressful, and I’m happy to work with you on a structure that makes your investment feel comfortable.

For your session fee, a deposit reserves your date and the remaining balance is due before your session. If you’re planning ahead and your session is a few months out, we can spread that into additional payments over the time leading up to your session day.

For your artwork and digital files, we’ll talk through payment options at your Design and Ordering Appointment. My goal is to make sure you walk away with the pieces your family will treasure — and that getting there feels as easy as everything else.

This is one of my favorite parts of the experience, and honestly, it’s one of the things that makes working with me different from most photographers.

About two to three weeks after your session, you’ll come back to the studio and I’ll walk you through your finished images as printed proofs — something you can actually hold in your hands. Together, we design your album layouts, choose images for framed artwork, select your digital files, and make sure every piece feels exactly right for your family and your home. If you want me to help you measure a wall or think through placement, I do that too.

I handle all of the design, layout, sizing, and framing decisions. You just tell me what you love. No guessing, no DIY printing project you never start, no wondering what size looks right above the mantle. This is what I mean when I say your experience is fully guided from start to finish.

As early as you can, especially if you have a specific timeframe in mind. I keep my session volume intentionally low so I can give every family the time and attention this kind of experience requires — and so I have the flexibility to adjust when life happens, whether that’s a newborn who arrives early or a family session that needs to move because of weather. That means my calendar does fill up, particularly in the fall and around the holidays.

For milestone and family sessions, two to three months in advance is a comfortable lead time. For maternity sessions, I love to hear from you in your second trimester. For newborns, the earlier the better — ideally during pregnancy so your session date is already reserved before baby arrives.

That said, if you just realized you want to document this season of your family and time is tight — reach out anyway. I will always do my best to make it work.

The two milestones I photograph most are the six-month sitter session — when baby can sit up on their own and their personality is really starting to show — and the one-year session, which can include a cake smash if you want one. Those two ages look dramatically different from each other and from the newborn stage, and they give you a beautiful arc of that entire first year.

For families doing The Collective Membership, the most common path is maternity, newborn, six months, and one year. That gives you four distinct chapters of the story without sessions that feel too similar to each other. If you’re not sure what makes sense for your family, I’m always happy to help you plan it out.

More than okay — it’s expected! Babies at every stage are wiggly, curious, and completely unpredictable, and that’s exactly what makes milestone sessions so fun. I’ve been doing this for a long time, and I promise I know how to work with a baby who would rather crawl off the set than sit and smile.

Every session is baby-led, which means we go at their pace. If they need a snack, a cuddle, or a few minutes to warm up, we take it. There’s no time limit and no pressure. The best images come when babies are comfortable and happy — and that’s always my priority.

Absolutely — the one-year session is the perfect time for it. I handle all the styling and setup, so you just bring the birthday baby and maybe a change of clothes for afterwards.

We’ll start with clean, beautiful portraits before we bring out the cake, so you’ll have a mix of polished milestone images and those messy, hilarious cake smash moments. It’s the best of both worlds.

It can be — especially if you’re planning both a six-month and a one-year session. The Collective gives you up to four sessions over 18 months at a single session fee of $900 compared to $400 per individual session. So if you’re planning on two or more sessions, The Collective is a better value and comes with perks like priority scheduling, 25 custom-designed cards, and $200 off each heirloom album.
