If you follow me on social media, you may have seen this already, but I put together a reel for a milestone session behind the scenes I wanted to share with you today. Milestone photography sessions are typically taken at 6, 9, or 12 months to celebrate those big leaps of growth your little ones goes through in their first year of life. You’ll see below in the video that I like to be down on the little one’s level. This builds trust and eases them into the session.
We enjoy playing with bubbles and blocks, dancing around or bringing in parents to assist when needed. Milestone sessions include family members, as well! We will doll up mom with hair and makeup before the session, pick out a dress and the rest of the clothing, and then dive into the family portion of the photos first, typically. Sometimes the schedule changes, depending on the baby, though! We may go ahead and get some of those solo baby and baby with dad while mom is still in hair and makeup and save family portraits for the end of the session.
