Those first few weeks of pregnancy can be some of the most confusing, especially if you aren’t completely confident that you are actually pregnant. Are you truly nauseous, or did you eat something bad last night? Maybe you’re just feeling a little bloated today. What if you actually logged your cycle wrong and aren’t due to start for another week? You need someone who will be there to give you clear-cut answers before helping you decide what to do next. As a Pittsburgh maternity photographer, I get to chat with many women who have been in a similar scenario. Here’s why so many of my clients have fallen in love with Birthright of Pittsburgh!
About Birthright of Pittsburgh
160 N. Craig Street, Suite 209, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania 15213
Birthright of Pittsburgh was founded by Louise Summerhill in 1971. The non-profit organization was created to give women alternative answers to unplanned pregnancies. Their mission is to help women find support for starting their families so they can have a happier introduction to motherhood. The center is interdenominational and makes it a point to never preach or evangelize to their clients. They just want to give you confidential answers and the necessary resources to start your family.
Services
One of the best parts about Birthright of Pittsburgh is its commitment to helping you get the answers you so desperately need. If you’ve found yourself wondering whether or not you are pregnant, you can head into their office for a pregnancy test. But when planning ahead, you can make an appointment. However, if you’ve been stressing your entire day and just need to know right now, you can head in and be seen the same day. Their pregnancy tests are always free and completely confidential.
They also allow you to bring in a support person if you feel anxious. Once they get the results, they will return to the office and review them with you. If you are unsure what to do next, the office can counsel you on your options and ensure you have the resources to make the best decisions for your unique case.
Specialty
The support from Birthright of Pittsburgh doesn’t just end once your appointment is over. The office can continue to provide support for the next nine months of your pregnancy. They have volunteers dedicated to providing prenatal support. The team can assist you with medical concerns, financial struggles, legal questions, and even job searches. These resources are available to every woman regardless of religion or marital status.
