Here is a practical checklist of what to have ready the morning of your first birthday session:

A backup outfit for your baby. This is the tip parents are most grateful for after the fact. After the cake smash, your baby will need to be changed before you head home. Pack a comfortable outfit — or even pajamas — for the drive back. I provide washcloths in the studio for cleanup, and I keep baby wipes on hand for outdoor sessions at the field. But a full change of clothes makes the transition much smoother.
Wardrobe for you. Just as with every Petite Magnolia session, my client wardrobe is available for moms. Hair and makeup for mom are included in every full session — you arrive however you arrive and leave looking like yourself on your best day. For the portrait portion you will be in frame, so wardrobe matters for you too.
A pacifier if your baby uses one. It is one of the most useful tools for keeping a one-year-old settled between setups — especially during the portrait portion before the cake comes out.

About 2 to 3 weeks after your session, you return to the studio for your design and ordering appointment where I lay your images out as printed proofs and we choose your artwork together.
